Google People Cards are Virtual Visiting Cards on Google Search , Here's How?

  

Google has introduced a new Search feature for users in India that allows freelancers, business owners, professionals, self employed individuals and entrepreneurs to create virtual visiting cards. Called the People Cards feature, it allows users to highlight their website or other information that they want others to see when searching for their names on Google Search.

This feature has been rolled out in India and users can access people card in English only for the time being. Presently this features is only available on Smart phones  including Android-based platforms and iOS-based ones. 

With this feature, anyone with a Google account can create a virtual business card.Now go to the search bar and type 'add me to search' or your name, and you will see a prompt. Tap on that prompt, and you can now start creating your people card.When you will tap on 'Add yourself to Google', you will be asked for your mobile number so Google can send you a six-digit confirmation code.

After the verification process is complete, you can add details about yourself such as a brief bio, your profession, and location etc.You can also add links to your websites and social networking profiles.Finally you can view your people card that Google will display in search. Google requires you to verify using your mobile number to help maintain the quality of information on People Cards.

Google's Vision- Virtual Visiting Card: 

With this features Google in a statement said that users can find reliable and useful information on their search engine. One of the integrity in place is that only visiting card can be made using a Google Account.

Users would also have the option to delete their Virtual Cards. If a user is looking for someone who has a virtual card, then they would see a module which would  have the name of the person, their profession and location and view the person's virtual card.
