UI and UX Design

 UI design and UX design are two of the most often  confused terms in web and app design. They are usually placed together in a single term UI/UX design. UI stand for User Interface and UX stands for User Experience.

What is User Interface Design(UI)?

The user interface is the visual appearance of a product and UI designers decide how to visually design the product for effective user experience. A good UI design helps attract users. The elements UI design includes the images, sliders, text entry fields, check boxes, dropdown lists, Graphic designs and all the rest of the items the user interacts with. This includes screen layouts, transitions, interface animations etc. A UI designer focuses on how the colors, typography and images of a design connect to a brand of a product.

The UI designers decide what the application is going to look like. They have to choose color schemes and button shapes the width of lines and the  fonts used to text. Simply put, if you  first saw a website marvelled and its visual appeal, it was mainly due to a UI designer.

What is User Experience(UX)?

User Experience is the process of building relationship between a company, its products and its customers. UX design is about understanding the overall journey of your users and turning it into a product.

User Experience design is the process of researching and developing and improving all aspects of user interaction with a company's product to satisfy its users. UX design contributes to a product that provides an effective user experience. It includes different disciplines such as visual design, interaction design, usability etc.

How UI/UX work together?

UX designer decides how the user interface works while the UI designer decides how the user interface looks. The most important interaction between the website, web application and mobile app and the users take place through the UI components. Even the out look of  a webpage which includes the color of the page, length, header and footer and many other factors are designed by the UI designer. The UX design is a comprehensive process of developing a web product that can create great product experience while using the product and also provide better implementation of the user interface within the product layout.
