Difference Between Internet and World Wide Web(WWW)

 The general belief is that Internet and World Wide Web in one. However.  in reality these two are totally different matters. So here's a question what's the difference between the world wide web and the internet.

Internet

The internet itself is a global, interconnected network of computing devices. The internet is bigger much bigger. It is actually a network of networks connecting millions of computers around the globe. This network supports a wide variety of interactions and support websites and URls. It transmits data in packets all over to its constituent sub-networks which is available almost  everywhere now. It's governed by agencies just like Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) that establish universal protocol.

The information on one computer can be transmitted to another through the internet and exist on both computers, without them or their users having to physically interact or remain connected to the internet. When you use data on your mobile phone, or check your email, playa game in real time you are sending and receiving information through the internet,. Your device becomes a part of the network. Internet uses TCP/IP protocol for data communication. Each device in the internet has a unique IP address to identify the device. 

World Wide Web (WWW)

The World Wide Web is one set of software services running on the internet. It refers to the large connection of  web pages. These pages ae linked together hyperlinks. Therefore  the user can visit from one page to another to access the required information easily. A web browser and HTTP(Hypertext Transfer Protocol) help to access webpages or websites in the World Wide Web. There are various categories of webpages and websites available on the World Wide Web. Some common categories are e-Commerce, social networking etc.

What is the difference between Internet and World Wide Web(WWW)

Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that used TCP/IP protocol  to link devices world wide.

World Wide Web refers to the online content that is formatted in HTML and accessed through HTTP protocol.

Conclusion

 Internet refers to hardware while World Wide Web refers to software. Although many people confuse them to be the same, there is a distinct difference between   Internet and World Wide Web.
