A new WhatsApp feature will allow users to send and receive messages on WhatsApp even without their phones. Under the new feature, users will be able to link up to four devices from their WhatsApp account and send message without phone. Currently WhatsApp users need to connect to desktop and web apps from mobile phones and receive messages.
WhatsApp developers have confirmed a new feature where WhatsApp users can send and receive messages without a phone. Presently it is under testing and available to small group of users . WhatsApp's main feature, End-to-end encryption will also be available while using this feature. Once all the bugs and issues are fixed, a new feature can be expected.
How Does It Work - WhatsApp Messaging Without Phone
WhatsApp says that under multi device support, users will be able to link 4 devices simultaneously from their WhatsApp account, namely WhatsApp web, WhatsApp Desktop, Tablet and Facebook Portal.
Developers say a complete software rewriting was done to bring the new feature. This app is currently using a smartphone app as the primary device. The phone with the WhatsApp account is the main source of the data and supports end-to-end encryption.

According to WhatsApp, the new feature will initially be introduced to a limited group of users. As its performance improves, it will be introduced to all users.
